Mexborough Baptist Church Sunday 12th December 2021 Third Sunday in Advent. Welcome to our email service for the Third Sunday in Advent. Isn't it wonderful to see our towns and cities lit up at this time of year - the bright, flashing, twinkling lights on the Christmas trees, lampposts and in shop windows and, of course, on our own Christmas trees at home and the one in church, which our children decorated so well on Advent Sunday. The Bible has lots to say about light; here are just 3 verses: For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light .  Psalm 36:9 “ Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you .  Isaiah 60:1 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.   John 1:4 The last verse refers specifically to our Lord Jesus and we come to worship him now as we sing together ' Light of the World (Here I am to Worship) '  click on the link   A PRAYER FOR LIGHT God,...
