e-Service - 26 September 2021

Mexborough Baptist Church Sunday 26th September 2021 On Tuesday evening there was a beautiful red sky.  Paul took this picture over Mexborough on our walk.  We all love to see a sky like this with its promise of good weather for the next day - "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight."  We've had some glorious days and nights recently and the harvest is now safely gathered in.  We had a wonderful harvest thanksgiving service in church last Sunday and we hope that those of you who joined in the service by email were also blessed.  Adam from Love Mexborough sent us this picture of our harvest gifts... Our harvest gifts went into food parcels which were distributed at the beginning of the week by Love Mexborough to local families who were very grateful.  Thank you to you all for your generosity. In church today Chris Whiteley, a retired Baptist minister, is leading the service and preaching. For those of us who rec...

e-Service - 19 September 2021

Mexborough Baptist Church Sunday 19th September 2021 We welcome everyone to our Harvest Thanksgiving Service.  Last year when we were in lockdown and not able to celebrate harvest in church, Brian made a harvest display in his garden for us all to see.... This  year we thank God that we can gather together in the church building to bring our thanks and praise to Him for His wonderful bounteous provision. Our first hymn is familiar to many of us from our childhood; it immediately takes us back to school harvest festivals with our shoeboxes filled with fruit and veg excitedly waiting to take them into church and add them to the ginormous display at the front of the church and sing 'We Plough the Fields and Scatter'  click on the link   Prayer Father God, we thank you today for the splendour and beauty of creation, for the ordered succession of seasons, for your love which made the world. We thank you for the good and fertile earth, for the fruits of the ear...

e-Service - 12 September 2021

Mexborough Baptist Church     Sunday 12th September 2021 We welcome everyone to our service today.  We will be commissioning Lisa and her team for the work in Mustard Seeds, our toddler group which starts tomorrow, and celebrating communion; you may wish to get your bread and wine/juice ready now. As we gather to worship, we focus on the fact that God is with us; his presence and nearness is the foundation on which we build our lives together as church, the people of God meeting together on Windhill.  May we have a greater sense of Jesus' presence as we sing ' Jesus we enthrone you, we proclaim you our King ' followed by ' Shout To The Lord '  click on the links   Pause and bring your own prayer of worship and adoration to the Lord.   Family Corner   Mustard Seeds is the new name of our toddlers playgroup which will be meeting every Monday morning in term-time. You may be wondering where the name comes from....

e-Service - 5 September 2021

Mexborough Baptist Church Sunday 5th September 2021 We welcome everyone to this service of Thanksgiving and Dedication for Luna Rae, especially Luna Rae, her mum, sister, grandparents and supporters.  During this service we will thank God for the gift of new life in Luna Rae; Mum and her family and supporters will dedicate themselves to bringing up Luna Rae in the Christian faith; the church will promise to support and encourage Mum and her family and we will pray for God's blessing on Luna Rae that she may one day come to know Jesus for herself. Right at the beginning of our service we celebrate how great God is as we sing together 'What A Mighty God We Serve' click on the link  One way we can see how mighty God is, is by looking around us at all the wonderful things He has created, as our next hymn reminds us - 'All things bright and beautiful' click on the link  Prayer Father of all, you are worthy of all glory and praise for ever. You founded the earth in the be...
